    Solution :

    Let distance between A and B \[=x\,\text{km}\] By given condition,             \[\frac{x}{12}-\frac{x}{18}=2\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[6x=2\times 18\times 12\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{2\times 18\times 12}{6}=72\,\text{km}\] Hence, required distance \[=72\,\text{km}\]
