    Solution :

    One day's work of A's \[=\frac{1}{8}\text{th part}\] One day's work of B's \[=\frac{1}{12}\text{th part}\] 3 day's work of A's \[=\frac{3}{8}\text{th part}\] Remaining work of A's \[=1-\frac{3}{8}=\frac{5}{8}\text{th part}\]  Together one day's work of A's and B's \[=\frac{1}{8}+\frac{1}{12}\]             \[=\frac{3+2}{24}=\frac{5}{24}\]  Number of days to finish the work \[=\frac{5}{4}\div \frac{5}{24}=3\,days\]
