    Solution :

    One day's work of first son \[=\frac{1}{6}\] and one day's work of second son \[=\frac{1}{12}\] \[\therefore \] One day's work of them working together             \[=\frac{1}{6}+\frac{1}{12}=\frac{2+1}{12}=\frac{1}{4}\] \[\therefore \] In 4 days father will finish the work.
