    Solution :

    Sum of 17 numbers \[=45\times 17=765\] Sum of the first 9 numbers \[=9\times 51=459\] Sum of the last 9 numbers \[=9\times 36=324\] \[\therefore \] 9th number \[=459+324-765=18\]
