    Solution :

    Suppose time taken while walking \[=x\,h\] And, time taken on riding \[=y\,h\] \[\therefore \] According to question,             \[x+y=4\frac{1}{2}h\]                           ? (i) Then,    \[2y=3\,h\]             \[y=1\frac{1}{2}h\] From Eq. (i)             \[x=4\frac{1}{2}-1\frac{1}{2}=3\,h\] Time required to walk both ways \[=6\,h\]
