  • question_answer
The number of revolutions, a wheel of diameter 40 cm makes in travelling a distance of 176 m, is \[\left( take\,\,\pi =\frac{22}{7} \right)\]

    A)  140

    B)  150

    C)  160

    D)  166

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Distance covered in 1 revolution = Circumference of wheel \[=2\pi r=1\times \frac{22}{7}\times 20\,cm\] Total distance \[=176\,m\]             \[=17600\,cm\] \[\therefore \] Number of revolutions             \[=\frac{17600}{2\times \frac{22}{7}\times 20}\]             \[=\frac{17600\times 7}{2\times 22\times 20}=140\]
