II. O is shorter than N but taller than M, while J is not the tallest.

    A)  if the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    B)  if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    C)  if the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.

    D)  if the data in both statement I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.

    E)  if the data in both statement I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

    Correct Answer: E

    Solution :

From I. O>M, L>J                  ...(i) K>N                            ...(ii) Thus, from (i) and (ii), we can't find who is the tallest among them. From II. N>O>M     ...(iii) Thus, from (iii), we can't find who is the tallest among them. From I and II. K>N>O>M, L>J So, K is the tallest. Hence both I and II are necessary to answer the question.
