    C)  Rs. 420000

    D)  Rs. 330000

    E)  Rs. 360000

    Correct Answer: E

    Solution :

     Let the prize money be Rs. x. Amount put aside for foreign trip \[=\frac{60x}{100}=Rs.\,\frac{3x}{5}\] Remaining amount \[=x-\frac{3x}{5}=Rs.\,\frac{2x}{5}\] Percent expenses on mother, wife and investment \[=20+30\text{ }+\text{ }35\text{ }=\text{ }85%\] According to the question, \[(100-85)%\,\,\,of\frac{2x}{5}=21600\] \[\Rightarrow \frac{2x}{5}\times \frac{15}{100}=21600\] \[\Rightarrow \frac{3x}{50}=21600\] \[\Rightarrow 3x=21600\times 50\] \[\Rightarrow x=\frac{21600\times 50}{3}=Rs.\,\,360000\]
