  • question_answer
The cost of making an article is divided between materials, labour and overheads in the ratio 3 : 4 : 1. If the material cost is Rs. 22.50, find the cost of the article?

    A)  Rs. 60

    B)  Rs. 80

    C)  Rs. 100

    D)  Rs. 40

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Let cost of article = Rs. x \[\because \] \[\begin{array}{*{35}{r}}    \text{Material}: & \text{Labour}: & \text{Overheads}  \\    =3 & :4 & :1  \\ \end{array}\] Cost of material \[=22.50\Rightarrow \frac{3}{\left( 3+4+1 \right)}x=\frac{45}{2}\] \[\therefore \]\[\,x=\frac{45}{2}\times \frac{8}{3}=\]Rs. 60
