    Let total quantity = x L \[\therefore \]Quantity of milk \[=\frac{2x}{5}L\] and quantity of water \[\frac{3x}{5}L\] \[\therefore \]Since, 50% of mixture is replaced by water. \[\therefore \]Remaining quantity of milk \[=\frac{2x}{5}\times \frac{1}{2}=\frac{x}{5}\,\,L\] and quantity of water \[=\frac{3x}{10}+\frac{x}{2}=\frac{8x}{10}=\frac{4x}{5}\,\,L\] Hence, the concentration of the solution is reduced by 50%.
