    Solution :

    Marked price = Rs. x After 16% discount, Selling price\[=\frac{84}{100}\times x=\,\,Rs.\,\,\frac{84x}{100}\] As given,\[\frac{84x}{100}=700\times \frac{120}{100}\] \[\therefore \]      \[x=\frac{700\times 120}{84}=1000\]
