    Solution :

    On subtracting, \[x=\frac{y}{3},\]we get \[\frac{{{x}^{2}}+{{y}^{2}}}{{{x}^{2}}-{{y}^{2}}}=\frac{\frac{{{y}^{2}}}{9}+{{y}^{2}}}{\frac{{{y}^{2}}}{9}-{{y}^{2}}}=\frac{10{{y}^{2}}}{-8{{y}^{2}}}=-\frac{5}{4}\]
