    Solution :

     Let the average for 15 innings be \[x\] then     \[16(x+3)=15x+96\]             \[\Rightarrow \] \[16x+48=15x+96\] \[\Rightarrow \] \[x=96-48=48\] So, new average   \[=48+3=51\] runs
