    Solution :

    \[\because \]\[{{x}^{2}}+{{y}^{2}}+\frac{1}{{{x}^{2}}}+\frac{1}{{{y}^{2}}}-4=0\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]\[{{x}^{2}}+\frac{1}{{{x}^{2}}}-2+{{y}^{2}}+\frac{1}{{{y}^{2}}}-2=0\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]\[{{\left( x-\frac{1}{x} \right)}^{2}}+{{\left( y-\frac{1}{y} \right)}^{2}}=0\]
    If          \[x-\frac{1}{x}=0\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[{{x}^{2}}-1=0\]
    \[\therefore \]      \[x=1\]
    Similarly                        \[y=1\]
    \[\therefore \]                  \[{{x}^{2}}+{{y}^{2}}=1+1=2\]
