Total number of cotton shirts sold by stores A and B together is what per cent of the number of shirts (linen and cotton) sold by store E?

    B) \[64\frac{1}{3}\]%

    C) \[61\frac{2}{3}\]%

    D) \[66\frac{2}{3}\]%

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

Number of cotton shirts sold by store A
    \[=\frac{5}{12}\text{of}(16\]%\[\text{of}84000)\]
    \[=\frac{5}{12}\times \frac{16}{100}\times 84000=5600\]
Total number of cotton shirts sold by store A
    \[=\frac{6}{11}\text{of}(22\]% \[\text{of}84000)\]
    \[=\frac{6}{11}\times \frac{22}{100}\times 84000=10080\]
Total number of cotton shirts sold by stores A and B
    \[=5600+10080=15680\]
Total number of shirts sold by store E
    \[=28\]%\[\text{of}84000=23520\]
    \[\therefore \]Required percentage \[=\frac{15680}{23520}\times 100=66\frac{2}{3}\]%
