    Solution :

    Let the quantity of acid in original mixture be x L and that of water be 3x L.
    According to the question,
    \[\frac{x+5}{3x}=\frac{1}{2}\]
    \[\Rightarrow \]               \[2x+10=3x\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[x=10\]
    \[\therefore \]Quantity of new mixture
    \[=4x+5=4\times 10+5=45\]
