What is the respective ratio between the total number of students who have enrolled for course on Java and SQL together from college P and the total number of students who have enrolled for the same courses together from college S?

    A) 2 : 1

    B) 3 : 1

    C) 3 : 2

    D) 5 : 3

    E) 4: 3

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Number of students for Java from college P
    \[=2400\times \frac{27}{1000}=648\]
Number of students for SQL from college P
                \[=1800\times \frac{24}{100}=432\]
\[\therefore \] Total number of students for Java and SQL from college \[P=648+432=1080\]
Number of students for Java from college S
                \[=2400\times \frac{18}{100}=432\]
Number of students for SQL from college S
                \[=1800\times \frac{16}{100}=288\]
\[\therefore \] Total number of students for Java and SQL from college \[S=432+288=720\]
    \[\therefore \] Required ratio
    \[=\frac{1080}{720}=\frac{108}{72}=\frac{36\times 3}{36\times 2}=\frac{3}{2}=3:2\]
