While selling a watch, a shopkeeper gives a discount of 5%. If he gives a discount of 6%, he earns Rs. 15 less as profit. What is the marked price of the watch? |
A) Rs. 1250
B) Rs. 1400
C) Rs. 1500
D) Rs. 750
Correct Answer: C
Solution :
Let the marked price be Rs. x. |
Then, selling price after discount of 5% |
\[=x-\frac{5x}{100}=\frac{19x}{20}\] |
Selling price after discount of 6% |
\[=x-\frac{6x}{100}=\frac{47x}{50}\] |
According to the question, |
\[\frac{19x}{20}-\frac{47x}{50}=15\] |
\[\Rightarrow \] \[\frac{95x-94x}{100}=15\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[x=1500\] |
