    [d] Earth removed \[=\text{ }250\times 500\text{ }c{{m}^{3}}=\frac{1}{8}\text{ }{{m}^{3}}\] Volume of the pit \[^{~}=\frac{1}{8}\,\,\,{{m}^{3}}\] \[\therefore \] Depth \[=\frac{Volume}{l\times b}=\frac{1}{8}\,\,{{m}^{3}}\div \left( \frac{1}{2}\times \frac{1}{2} \right)\]             \[=\frac{1}{2}\,\,m=0.5\,m.\]
