    Solution :

    [b] Present age of mother be 'x' years and her daughter 'y years \[\Rightarrow \,\,\,\,\,x-2=8(y-2)\]              ....(i) and   \[x+1=\text{ }5\,(y+1)~~~~~~~~\]   ....(ii) we get,    \[x=34,\,\,y=6\] after n years, we have \[34+n=3\left( 6+n \right)\text{ }\Rightarrow \text{ n}=8\]
