    [a] Current flowing through the conductor, \[I=ne{{v}_{d}}A\]. Hence \[\frac{4}{1}=\frac{ne{{v}_{d1}}\pi {{(1)}^{2}}}{ne{{v}_{d2}}\pi {{(2)}^{2}}}\] or \[\frac{{{v}_{d1}}}{{{v}_{d2}}}=\frac{4\times 4}{1}=\frac{16}{1}.\]
