    C)  A is true but R is false

    D)  A is false but R is true

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

[a] Swadeshi Movement didn't gamer the support of mass Muslims and they were turned against the movement by British. The use of traditional popular customs and festivals to mobilise masses was misinterpreted by Communal forces backed by the State. Communal riots broke in Bengal. Mullahs and maulvis were pressed into service and unsurprisingly, at the height of the Swadeshi movement communal riots broke out in Bengal.
