    A)  1, 2, 3

    B)  2, 3, 4

    C)  1, 2, 4

    D)  1, 2, 3, 4

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

[d] The north western portion of Rajasthan is generally sandy and dry. Most of this region is covered by the Thar Desert which extends into adjoining portions of Pakistan. The Aravalli Range does not intercept the moisture-giving southwest monsoon winds off the Arabian Sea, as it lies in a direction parallel to that of the coming monsoon winds, leaving the north western region in a rain shadow. Tamil Nadu has rain during the monsoon season due to the south west trade winds which blow towards the northern hemisphere. Tamil Nadu receives rainfall in the winter season due to north-west trade winds.
