    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

[c] The equatorial rainforests of South America, Africa, and the Malaysian region are the densest rainforests. The largest continuous, intact rainforest is in Brazil, in a vast region surrounding the Amazon River. More tropical rainforest has been destroyed in Brazil than in any other country, yet its intact forests account for nearly 40 percent of the tropical rainforest habitat worldwide. The second largest tract of rainforest is in equatorial Africa in the region around the Congo River. Almost half of the tropical rainforests in this tract are in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The most extensive natural equatorial rainforests in Asia are in New Guinea and parts of Borneo.
