Green Revolution started in India during-

    A) Third five year plan

    B) Fourth five year plan

    C) Fifth five year plan

    D) None of these

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

The "revolution" began in the 1960s, but it's confirmed that it began in 1953 through the introduction of high-yield crop varieties and application of modern agricultural techniques. It led to an increase in food production in India, especially in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh during the early phase. The main development was higher-yielding varieties of wheat. The Indian Agricultural Research Institute also claims credit for enabling the Green Revolution, [1] in part by developing rust resistant strains of wheat. First Plan period was 1951-56 and second Plan period was 1956-61.
