There are different references about the guilds of oil pressure, hydraulic machine, artisans, potters, weavers, corn dealers, and bamboo workers. These guilds were the normal feature and very popular in the north as well as in south India, The coins issued by Satavahanas had Bilingual legends. The name of the Kings was mentioned in Prakrit as well as some south Indian Language. Gautamiputra Satakarni, often acknowledged by historians as the greatest of the Satavahana rulers, took to the throne after his father, Satakarni. Satakarni had earlier expanded the Satavahana Empire and gained considerable prosperity due to his two Ashwamedha sacrifices.
