     If \[\cos \theta =0.96,\]then \[\frac{1}{\sin \theta }+\frac{1}{\tan \theta }\]is equal to

    A) 0.98

    B)  3

    C)  4

    D)  7

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    \[\cos \theta =0.96\] \[\sin \theta =\sqrt{1-{{\cos }^{2}}\theta }=\sqrt{1-{{(0.96)}^{2}}}=\sqrt{1-0.9216}\]     \[=0.28\] \[\tan \theta =\frac{\sin \theta }{\cos \theta }=\frac{0.28}{0.96}=\frac{7}{24}\] \[\frac{1}{\sin \theta }+\frac{1}{\tan \theta }=\frac{100}{28}+\frac{24}{7}=\frac{100+96}{28}=\frac{196}{28}=7\]
