    Let the respective altitudes be \[{{P}_{1}}\] and \[{{P}_{2}}.\] \[\frac{a}{b}=\frac{\frac{1}{2}\times x\times {{P}_{1}}}{\frac{1}{2}\times y\times {{P}_{2}}}\Rightarrow \frac{{{P}_{1}}}{{{P}_{2}}}=\frac{ay}{bx}\]
