SSC Sample Paper Mock Test-17 SSC CGL Tear-II Paper-1

  • question_answer
In an examination, the minimum percentage to qualify the exam for male and female candidates are 30% and 45%, respectively. Ram scored 280 marks and failed by 80 marks. How much exam marks Sita requires to qualify the exam, if she scores 108 marks?

    A) 108

    B)  132

    C)  240

    D)  360

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Suppose, total marks of the examination is x. Then by question,                                     \[\frac{x\times 45}{100}=80+280\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{45x}{100}=360\therefore x=\frac{360\times 100}{45}=800\] Now, minimum qualifying marks for Sita = 30% of \[800=\frac{30\times 800}{100}=240\] So, extra marks required by Sita to qualify the exam \[=240-108=132\]
