    Solution :

    The part of the cistern filled by the taps in 2 min \[=\frac{1}{6}+\frac{1}{7}=\frac{13}{42}\] \[\therefore \]The part of the cistern filled by the taps in 6 min \[=\frac{3\times 13}{42}=\frac{13}{14}\] \[\therefore \]Remaining part \[\frac{1}{14}\]will be filled by the taps in\[\frac{6}{14}=\frac{3}{7}\] min Hence, full cistern will be filled in \[6\frac{3}{7}\]min.
