    Let my age 16 yr ago be x years. My grandfather's age at that time = 8x yr My present age \[=(x+16)\]yr. My grandfather's present age \[=(8x+16)\]yr Ratio of our ages 8 yr ago             \[=\frac{(x+16-8)}{(8x+16-8)}=\frac{x+8}{8x+8}\] \[=\frac{\frac{48}{5}+8}{8\times \frac{48}{5}+8}=\frac{88}{424}=\frac{11}{53}=11:53\]
