    A, B and C hired a field for Rs. 800 for the whole year. A puts in 50 cows for 2 months, B 80 cows for 5 months and C 60 cows and 30 calves for 4 months. How much should C pay if one cow eats as much as 2 calves?

    A) Rs. 100

    B)  Rs. 400

    C)  Rs. 250

    D)  Rs. 300

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    \[\because \]2 calves eat as much as 1 cow eats
    \[\therefore \] 30 calves eat as much as\[=\frac{1}{2}\times 30=15\]cows
    60 cows + 30 calves \[=60+15=75\] cows
    A puts cows for 1 month \[=50\times 2=100\]
    B puts cows for 1 month \[=80\times 5=400\]
    C puts cows for 1 month \[=75\times 4=300\]
    \[\therefore \]Ratio in the number of their cows
    =100 : 400 : 300 = 1 : 4 : 3
    \[\therefore \] Share of C in rent \[=\frac{3\times 800}{8}\]= Rs. 300
