An air bubble of radius ?a? initially rests on the bottom of vessel filled with a liquid of constant density \['\rho '\] as shown in figure. When the air bubble starts rising vertically, then which of the following graph represents he variation of radius of bubble with depth of liquid? (Neglect atmospheric pressure).

    A)

    B)

    C)

    D)

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

As isothermal condition is maintained, \[{{P}_{1}}{{V}_{1}}={{P}_{2}}{{V}_{2}}\] (for air bubble) and when bubble rises upward the pressure decreases inside the liquid and air bubble keeps on expanding. The depth is given by \[h=\frac{{{C}_{1}}}{{{r}^{3}}}-\frac{{{C}_{2}}}{r}\] where \[{{C}_{1}}\] and \[{{C}_{2}}\] are constants and r is radius.
