Identify the increasing order of the angular velocities of the following
    (I) Earth rotating about its own axis
(II) Hour's hand of a clock
(III) Second's hand of a clock
(IV) Flywheel of radius 2 m making 300 rpm

    A) I, II, III, IV

    B) II, III, IV, I

    C) III, IV, I, II

    D) IV, I, II, III

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    (I) Angular velocity of earth, \[{{\omega }_{1}}=\frac{2\pi }{T}=\,\frac{2\pi }{24\times 60\,\times 60}\,=\frac{2\pi }{86400}\,rad{{s}^{-1}}\] (II) Angular velocity of hour's hand of a clock \[{{\omega }_{2}}=\frac{2\pi }{T}=\,\frac{2\pi }{12\times 60\times 60}=\frac{2\pi }{43200}\,rad{{s}^{-1}}\]  (III) Angular velocity of sec hand of a clock          \[{{\omega }_{3}}=\frac{2\pi }{T}=\,\frac{2\pi }{1\times 60}=\frac{2\pi }{60}\,rad{{s}^{-1}}\]  (IV) Angular velocity of flywheel \[{{\omega }_{3}}=2\pi n\,=2\pi \times \,\frac{300}{60}=2\pi \times 5\,rad\,{{s}^{-1}}\] So, the increasing order is given by \[{{\omega }_{1}}\,<{{\omega }_{2}}<{{\omega }_{3}}<{{\omega }_{4}}\]
