A cubical wooden block of side 10 cm floats at the interface between oil and water with its lower face 2 cm below the interface. If the density of oil is \[0.6\,g\,c{{m}^{-3}}\] the mass of the block is

    A)  200 g

    B)  340 g

    C)  480 g

    D)  680 g

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

As, from the consideration of Archimedes' principle. \[II=\frac{10\times 6}{RT}\] where, \[\therefore \] and \[=\frac{(45+60)}{RT}=\frac{105}{RT}\] are volumes of block inside water and oil. and \[\therefore \] and \[\frac{nRT}{{{V}_{Total}}}\] are their respective densities. \[=\frac{105}{RT}=\frac{RT}{15}\]             \[=7\,\text{atm}\] \[\frac{{{p}_{0}}-{{p}_{s}}}{{{p}_{s}}}=\frac{{{W}_{B}}}{{{W}_{B}}}\times \frac{{{M}_{A}}}{{{W}_{A}}}\]
