If the ratio of the yearly rate of interest on the amount invested by Rakesh to the yearly rate of simple interest on the amount invested by Ravi is 2 : 3, then what will be the amount invested by Ravi that earns an interest of Rs.4500?

    A)  Rs. 15000

    B)  Rs. 20000

    C)  Rs. 25000

    D)  Rs. 30000

    E)  Rs. 35000

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Rate of interest for Ravi\[=4\times \frac{3}{2}=6%\] \[\because \] Interest \[=\frac{P\times R\times T}{100}\] or, \[4500=\frac{P\times 6\times 3}{100}\] \[\therefore \] \[P=\frac{4500\times 100}{18}=Rs.\,25000\]
