II. Pratibha secured 575 marks in 9 subjects.
III. A student will be declared passed if he secures 32.5% of the total marks.

    A) Only I and III

    B) Only I and II

    C) All together are necessary

    D) Only I

    E) Any two of them

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

From I. According to the question, \[42%+10=45%-13\] or,\[23=3%\] \[\therefore \]\[3%=23\] \[\therefore \]\[42%=\frac{23}{3}\times 42=322\] Pass marks\[=322+10=332\] Hence statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question. But II and III are not sufficient to answer the question because we need more information to find the pass marks.
