    A)  1, 3 and 4

    B)  1 and 4

    C)                     All of these

    D)  None of these

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

[b] According to Article 75 of the Constitution, the Council of Ministers is collectively responsible to the House of the People. This means that the government continues in office only as long as it enjoys the support of the members of Lok Sabha, while the no-confidence motion leads to the direct resignation of the government, there are other ways also, in which the government might be forced to resign. Generally, items, which require a majority support in Parliament, fail to go according to the government, then it will be forced to resign. Thus, if the budget fails to pass and if the debate on a major policy issue goes against the government at the time of voting, the moral and political pressure will be tremendous on the government to resign.
