Answer:
Being a manager of a dairy farm, to improve the quality and quantity of milk production, I will use MOET (Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer) technology. This is herd improvement programme in which high milk-yeilding breeds of females and high quality meat-yeilding bulls have been bred successfully to improve quality as well as quantity. The method includes following steps (i) A cow is administered with hormone FSH-to induce follicular maturation and superovulation. (ii) The cow produces 6-8 eggs instead of one egg, normally released per cycle. (iii) A cow in now mated with an elite bull or artificially inseminated. (iv) The fertilised eggs at 8-32 celled stages are recovered non-surgically and transferred to surrogate mothers. (v) The genetic mother can again be used for superovulation.
