    In April 2017, if the total quantity of rice in the granary increased by 5% over the previous month and the additional quantity of rice was distributed to retailers B and E only, what was the total quantity of rice distributed to retailers B and e together? (in kg)

    Solution :

    Additional quality of rice distributed in April 2017 = 5% of 800 kg = 40 kg Now, total quantity of rice distributed to retailers B and E together in April 2017 = (24 +18) % of 800 + 40  =42%of 800+40             = 42\[\times \] 8 + 40 = 336 + 40 = 376 kg
