Describe the climate of the Hot Desert region and why are they found on the western side of continents.

    Answer:

Deserts of the world can be divided into hot deserts and cold deserts. The tropical, or- hot deserts are found on the west coasts of continents between latitudes \[20{}^\circ N\] and \[30{}^\circ ~N\] and also \[20{}^\circ ~S\] and \[30{}^\circ S\] of the equator. The temperature in summers rise high with an average temperature of around \[30{}^\circ ~C\]. Winter temperature is very low. Cloudless skies cause intense loss of heat through ground radiation and therefore, temperatures are very low at night. Rainfall is irregular and very low, less than 250 mm a year. There is also low humidity because of the high rate of evaporation. The cold ocean currents along the western side of continents are partly responsible for lesser amount of rainfall in these areas. Besides, the winds that blow offshore also prevent rainfall making these areas deserts.
