    What causes winds to blow?

    Answer:

Moving air is called wind. There is uneven heating of the earth's surface as some areas receive the direct rays of the Sun and other places the slanting rays. Warm air over warmer surfaces being lighter rises. This creates a low pressure. Then cooler air moves in from high pressure areas. This movement of air causes the wind to blow.
