Mention any two main significant features of the peninsular rivers.

    Answer:

     (a) Peninsular rivers, e.g., Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna, etc. are rain-fed and seasonal rivers.
    The volume of water fluctuates.
    (b) These rivers flow through broad shallow valleys. Their course is more or less straight.
    (c) Due to hard rock-bed and lack of silt and sand, these rivers do not form any significant meanders. They rise from the Western Ghats.
    (d) Narmada, Tapi, Sabarmati and Mahi drain into Arabian sea. Narmada and Tapi form estuaries. (Any two)
