    Sex ratio is the number of females per 1000 males. Kerala is leading in sex ratio in the country.
    In this area sex ratio is 1058 females per 1000 males, whereas India's sex ratio is 933 females per 1000 males (2001). Two main reasons for the highest sex ratio in Kerala are:
    (a) Kerala has highest female literacy rate in India.
    (b) Socio-economic status of women in Kerala is high.
