    (a)       
    Rocks Minerals
    (i) Naturally occuring substances consisting of one or more minerals in varying proportionals in varying proportions. (i) Natural substances which have a definite chemical composition.
    (ii) They are mainly used for constructional purposes. e.g., granite, marble limestone. (ii) They are mainly used as raw materials in mineral based industries. e.g. Iron, copper, manganese.
    (b)
    Ores Minerals
    (i) Ores are minerals in raw state (i) Natural substances having definite physical and chemical composition.
    (ii) Minig depends upon quantity and quantity of the minerals ore e.g., Bauxite, galena, haematitie (ii) Industrial development depends upon the availability of minerals. e.g., Manganese, copper, silver.
    (c)
    Thermal Electricity Hydro Electricity
    (i) Thermal electricity is produced by burning coal, petroleum and nuclear minerals. (i) Hydro electricity is produced from falling water.
    (ii) It is non renewable and expensive source of power (ii) It is renewable and cheapest source of power.
    (iii) It pollutes the atmosphere. (iii) It is pollution free.
    (iv) 75 % of energy is thermal power. (iv) 25 % of energy is hydel power.
