    [a] From the equation of continuity, Rate \[=r=\frac{A}{3}{{V}_{P}}+\left( A-\frac{A}{3} \right){{V}_{Q}}\] \[\therefore \,\,\,{{V}_{P}}+2{{V}_{Q}}=\frac{3r}{A}=\frac{3\times 0.1}{{{10}^{-2}}}=30m/s\] \[As\,\,{{V}_{p}}=20m/s,So\,\,{{V}_{Q}}=5m/s.\]
