A pipe can fill an empty tank in 12 minutes and another pipe can fill it in 24 min. If both the pipes are kept open simultaneously, then in how many minutes will the tank get filled?

    A)  8 min

    B)  9 min

    C)  10 min

    D)  15 min

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Pipe A can fill part in 1 min \[=\frac{1}{12}\] Pipe B can fill part in 1 min\[=\frac{1}{24}\] Both simultaneously in 1 minute. \[\frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{24}=\frac{1}{8}\] It takes 8 minute to fill tank simultaneously
