  • question_answer
Rs. 680 is divided among A, B, C such that A gets \[\frac{2}{3}\] of what B gets and B gets \[\frac{1}{4}\] of what C gets. Then, their shares are respectively

    A) Rs. 75, Rs. 325, Rs. 280

    B) Rs. 80, Rs. 120, Rs. 480

    C) Rs. 90, Rs. 210, Rs. 380

    D) Rs. 100 Rs. 200, Rs. 380

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    [b] Suppose C gets Rs. x. Then, B gets Rs. \[\frac{x}{4}\] and A gets Rs. \[\left( \frac{2}{3}\times \frac{x}{4} \right)=\text{Rs}.\,\,\frac{x}{6}.\] \[\therefore \]      \[\frac{x}{6}+\frac{x}{4}+x=680\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[2x+3x+12x=8160\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[17x=8160\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[x=480\] \[\therefore \] A gets Rs. 80, B gets Rs. 120 and C gets Rs. 480.
