The graph given here shows the positions of the body at different times. Calculate the speed of the body as it moves from. (i) A to B               (ii) B to C              (iii) C to D

    Answer:

    (i) A to B \[{{x}_{1}}=0\]                                  \[{{t}_{1}}=0\] \[{{x}_{2}}=3\]                                  \[{{t}_{2}}=5\] \[\therefore v=\frac{{{x}_{2}}-{{x}_{1}}}{{{t}_{2}}-{{t}_{1}}}=\frac{3-0}{5-0}=\frac{3}{5}cm/s\] (ii) B to C As there is no change in the position, the speed is zero (iii) CD \[v=\alpha \]                      \[{{t}_{1}}\] \[{{t}_{1}}=\frac{v}{\alpha }\]                     \[{{t}_{2}}\] \[\therefore v=\frac{7-3}{9-7}=\frac{4}{2}cm/s\]
