                       Arrange the given data in ascending order,                    We have 34, 38, 42, 44, 46, 48, 54, 55, 63, 70       Here, median = M =\[\frac{46+48}{2}=47\] \[(\because n=10,\]median is the mean of 5th and 6th items)       \[\therefore \] Mean deviation \[=\frac{\Sigma |{{x}_{i}}-M|}{n}\]\[=\frac{\Sigma |{{x}_{i}}-47|}{10}\]                 \[=\frac{13+9+5+3+1+1+7+8+16+23}{10}=8.6\].
